I received my Ed.D., Supervisor/Administrator Certificate, and Master's Degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  I received my Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University in Special Education.  War Eagle!

Before accepting the position of Superintendent of Trussville City Schools, I was an Assistant Professor at Samford University teaching leadership classes in the Graduate Studies Program. I have also been an educational consultant for the Tarrant City School Board and leadership teams in  Mountain Brook, Lowndes County, Perry County, Selma City and Montgomery Public Schools.

Before returning to Alabama, I was Superintendent of Schools for the Cumberland County School District in Crossville, Tennessee from 2003 - 2007.  I served as Director of Special Education, Student Services, and Alternative Programs for Oak Ridge Schools in Oak Ridge, Tennessee from 1999-2003.  From 1984 - 1999, I was principal of Fairview Elementary School in Anderson County, Tennessee and a Special Education teacher at Fairview Elementary School from 1977 - 1984. Fairview Elementary was recently named best elementary school in the state of Tennessee.  I have also served as Adjunct Faculty for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee.
