Second Party Residence Information: Trussville City Schools, as part of a consortium of school systems located within the Jefferson County area and implementing procedures reviewed by the Jefferson County Family Court, has updated the Second Party Residence process. Trussville City Schools will work collaboratively with the other school systems and the court system to check old addresses and verify new addresses with the goal of having each student attend the school that he/she is legally zoned to attend. For this reason, Second Party Residence Affidavits have changed and also include a required signed release as well as mandatory documents indicating the parent’s/legal guardian’s current address. If you plan to register a student using a “Second Party Residence,” please call Sandy Jones in Support Services at 205.228.3031 as soon as possible to schedule an initial appointment to detail these requirements and set the follow-up appointment for completion of documents. All documents must be completed in Support Services and two successful unannounced home visits made before a “second party residence” student will be allowed to register.
