CONGRATULATIONS LINDSEY LEMASTER, 2007-08 ALABAMA STATE DECA PRESIDENT

Birmingham, Alabama — The Alabama State DECA Career Development Conference was held at the Sheraton BJCC this past weekend.  DECA members from all over the state gathered to compete in 36 different business, marketing, and management specialty area competitions and elect state officers.

Lindsey LeMaster of Hewitt-Trussville High School DECA was elected to serve as the 2007-08 Alabama State DECA President.  Lindsey is a junior and currently serves as the local DECA Chapter President.  Lindsey has been an active member of HTHS DECA for 2 years.  She previously served as Sophomore Vice President of HTHS DECA and has competed at the regional and state levels for the past 2 years.  She is the great grand daughter of Ned and Goldie Payne, grand daughter of Gail LeMaster, and daughter of Johnny and Laurie LeMaster.

As the Alabama State DECA President Lindsey has a busy year ahead.  Her duties include representing Alabama DECA at professional conferences including the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando in April, the Alabama Career Technical Education Summer Conference in Huntsville, the Joint Leadership Development Conference in September, and the Southern Regional Fall Leadership Conference in San Antonio.  She will travel the State of Alabama with her officer team as they spread their enthusiasm about DECA across the state.  She will also serve as a representative at both the DECA State Advisory Meetings and the Marketing Education State Advisory Meetings.

Congratulations Lindsey!  Wishing you much success in your new position!!
