Nursery Rhyme Character Dress Up Day!!

We will be kicking off our November Reading Program with Nursery Rhyme Character Dress Up Day on Friday, October 31st!  All of Paine Primary will celebrate our love of reading by dressing up as our favorite nursery rhyme characters.  Just choose your nursery rhyme character, make a SIMPLE costume, and memorize the nursery rhyme that goes with it!  We will be sharing our nursery rhymes with each other, and having some great Mother Goose fun!

Paine Primary Pick of the Week

How to Heal a Broken Wing

Some children's picture books have the ability to grab your heart... How to Heal a Broken Wing is one of those little titles for me.  Bob Graham introduces us to a little boy who notices a bird with a broken wing, which none of the adults seem to be able to see.  Together with his family, they nurse the bird back to health with every family member playing a part.  Graham's art is simple and captivating - the use of light in his illustrations to make us see what a child sees is genius.  Will the bird ever be well enough to be on its own again?  Pick up this tender story and find out!
