I am married to Kathy, a retired HTMS teacher. I was born and reared in Trussville, and graduated from HTHS in the 1970's. I have taught for many years at HTHS, currently teaching American History grades 10 Pre AP, and 11 Advanced Placement. Please note: There are NO BONUS points offered in the classes I teach. Your child will earn their points on their own merit and work ethic. Chapter tests will be objective type as well as essay format scored by rubric found in the student section of handouts. Cell phones will NOT be needed in the classroom and are not to be VISIBLE or in use unless directed by the teacher. NO backpacks, food or drinks of color in the classroom as they create a distraction to the learner and teacher. Late work will be given a grade of 50% and then graded for accuracy. Work submitted beyond TCS accepted deadlines may be refused or be significantly reduced in point value. Students in the AP class are expected to comeplete the course they signed up for and not request a schedule change.
All students in the AP class are expected to take the AP exam in May after first paying the manditory exam fee. Please consult the college of your choice to determine the AP test score your college allows for credit. Completion of the course does not promise a placeement score OR college credit. www.collegeboard.org will be your guide to all things AP.
We welcome your support and enjoy teaching the future of America.
