For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher. It was at Trussville Jr. High where I met the teacher who inspired me to become a teacher, Gayle Glenn. She was my music teacher and she was and is a true inspiration to me. I went to college to follow in her footsteps and become a music teacher. I was part of many Choirs, Show Choirs and Music Theater Productions throughout high school and college. In the process of earning my degree, I took a detour and received my Elementary Education degree. I began teaching fifth grade at Bagley Elementary in 1996 and soon moved closer to home to begin teaching first grade at Snow Rogers Elementary School in 1997.  In 2002 I came to Trussville Elementary, now Paine Primary, to continue teaching first grade. In 2013, I completed my Music degree and became the music teacher. I am now happy to be teaching music at Cahaba Elementary in Trussville. It has truly been a dream come true to watch this journey unfold. I am truly blessed!

I was born in Birmingham, Alabama. I graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School in 1989 and now have come full circle to teach in Trussville. My husband and I have two children, one dog and three cats.  I love singing, spending time with my family, hiking, reading and going to the movies.
