Ms. Leah Morrison

Hello! My name is Leah Morrison. I am Paine's Gifted and Talented (GaTE) teacher! I am so excited to be returning to Paine after subbing with the GaTE program for the latter half of the 2015-2016 school year and being housed at Paine for a few months as Magnolia's GaTE teacher the following year! I cannot wait to get to work with our Gifted students and know that there will be exciting things in store for all!

A little educational history...I attended the University of Montevallo and obtained my B.S. in Elementary Education (K-6) in 2012. I always knew that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher because I had such amazing elementary school teachers as a student in Trussville! For three years, I taught at Montevallo Elementary School in Second grade and Kindergarten. God opens and closes doors for a reason, and in 2015 he closed my Montevallo door to open the door for Trussville! I was a sub for the 2015-2016 school year, and was given the opportunity to finish out the year as a long-term sub for the GaTE program. I had been in 'RLC' as an elementary student, so I was fairly familiar with the academics and teaching behind it. This was the push I needed to realize my next calling - being a Gifted teacher! I was accepted into Samford University that summer and obtained my M.S. in Gifted Education in December 2017. I am privelaged to have taught for two years at both Cahaba and Magnolia Elementary Schools as their GaTE teacher and am very excited about my opportunity to teach at Paine!
