Mrs. Christy Dooley
I am a proud graduate of HTHS and The University of Alabama. I am a highly qualified teacher in both language arts and reading. This is my 19th year teaching freshman English and my 13th year with Trussville City Schools, where I currently teach ninth grade Advanced English and serve as the Service Association sponsor. My husband and I have two daughters, Maddie and Meg. Maddie is a 2018 graduate of HTHS and current sophomore at The University of Alabama, and Meg is a senior at HTHS. I have been married to Mr. Dooley, an engineering instructor at HTHS, for twenty-five years, and we enjoy living in Trussville's Cahaba Project. We both attended HTHS, and we are proud of our school and community.
I am a three-time cancer survivor, and I believe that each day is a blessing. I enjoy writing, and I am working on a memoir that I hope to have published one day. I enjoy teaching my students about the importance of reading, writing, and speaking; however, I also enjoy providing them with life lessons through personal stories. I also learn from my students each day. I am blessed to have a career that is my calling, and I am proud to be a part of Trussville City Schools.
