Art

“I am a 30+ year veteran art teacher, retired.  For the last few years I have had the good fortune to continue teaching art part time for Trussville City Schools.  Children are the absolute best artists because their art comes from within.  Everyday is new and exciting and the possibilities are as endless as the minds which create them. On a daily basis, I receive inspiration for my own art directly from their energy and imagination.  Students, when challenged to create things that they otherwise might not, will be successful and confident and risk takers in the most positive ways. Becoming more artistic means trying new things, making choices and learning how to alter those choices until the work is pleasing to its creator. As a teacher who tries to help students exercise the right side of the brain, it is my job to present opportunities that challenge young people so that they become independent  thinkers and flexible problem solvers.”
