TCS - With the return of school comes the return of sports. Football and volleyball have both kicked off their seasons. Trussville City Schools continues to build on each of its athletics programs - sports that prove popular picks for student-athletes. Roughly 1,015 (20%) of the school system’s 5,000 students participate in one or more athletic programs. If you break that number down to the two schools that offer athletics (Hewitt-Trussville Middle School and Hewitt-Trussville High School), that represents approximately 35% of secondary students who are involved in some form of junior varsity or varsity athletics.

Last school year, middle and high school teams - 65 total - combined to participate in 1,044 competitions.  Additionally, twenty-seven student-athletes signed college scholarships representing eight different sports.

Athletics Director Lance Walker works throughout the year to ensure the success of Hewitt-Trussville Athletics.

“We are looking forward to the 2022-2023 athletic year. Our goal is for our student-athletes to be more prepared for life because of their affiliation with our athletic program," Walker said.  "We want all of our sports to compete at a championship level. We appreciate our administration, corporate partners, and parents for their continued support.”

Hewitt-Trussville High School has won 18 AHSAA (Alabama High School Athletic Association) State Titles "blue maps" in school history and 20 Runner-Up State Titles "red maps" for a total of 38 titles. Fifteen maps have been brought to Trussville just since 2016.
