2022 Academy Profiles: Hospitality & Culinary Arts and Business Leadership

(HTHS) - Leading experts continue to indicate the demand for a skilled workforce across all sectors will only increase.  Public education proves key to the nation's employee pipeline.  On the front lines of this effort are schools that provide career readiness programs.  February is Alabama Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. This year’s celebration is the most meaningful yet, as Alabama’s local educators continue to work hard to inspire every young person to do their very best in school now, to ensure a lifetime of success in the future.

In conjunction with Alabama CTE Month, TCS is profiling various career academies available to Hewitt-Trussville High School students. 

Academy Name:  Hospitality and Culinary Arts Academy
Overview: The Hospitality and Culinary Arts Academy prepares students for varied careers in the hospitality and culinary fields.  Courses include Hospitality and Culinary Arts (intro to Culinary Arts), Culinary I, and Culinary II.

Academy Name: Business Leadership Academy
The Business Leadership Academy introduces students to all types of careers in various business fields such as marketing, management, entrepreneurship, accounting and business support careers.  Courses include Foundations of Business Leadership, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Digital Publications Design, Business Software Applications I, Leadership Hewitt-Trussville (a civic leadership course available via application).
