TCS - According to facilities coordinator Brian Pharris, Trussville City Schools' (TCS) latest capital project should be ready for a late winter 2022 opening.

Pharris oversees the construction on the part of TCS, which is now underway on Highway 11 near downtown Trussville.  Construction accelerated in late summer thanks in part to cooperative weather. Current progress points of the project include: AC unit curbs have been installed and the unit itself should arrive in October; brickwork is complete and rock work has begun; first-floor sheetrock is nearing completion, and HVAC ductwork installation is now underway on the second floor. Turn lane installation is also underway. This facility will be the first-ever "official" Central Office for TCS since its inception. The new facility brings together a number of district departments currently housed in other locations.

The current TCS Central Office is located at 113 Chalkville Road and once served as an eastern-area kindergarten center for Jefferson County Schools, before Trussville City Schools formed in 2005.  Groundbreaking for this new facility was held in December 2020.  The building is being constructed by Blalock Building Company and was designed by Lathan and Associates Architects.
