The Business Leadership Academy is designed to give high school students an opportunity to prepare for collegiate studies and careers in the fields of business and finance. Emphasis is placed on a college preparatory curriculum that is directly linked to the financial world. Academy students participate in mentorships, career shadowing, and internship programs that link the resources of business, economics, and finance to education and to the students. Past events have included trips to tour Samford University's Brock School of Business and to hear presentations from the university's professors in Finance, Sports Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. Academy students are encouraged to join the Future Business Leaders of America, where they gain multiple opportunities to learn from local business owners visit cities, such as New York City.
