  • Important Information About Learning Options

    As the end of the 1st semester approaches, we would like to give families an opportunity to change their learning option for the 2nd semester. Please fill out the google form below ONLY IF YOU ARE WANTING TO CHANGE YOUR LEARNING OPTION FOR 2ND SEMESTER. The deadline to fill out this form is December 1st.  Please email Jennifer Abney if you have further questions.

     Please see the chart below for a description of each learning option at HTMS:

    Option A- Traditional

    • Students attend traditional school 5 days a week.
    • Safety precautions in place: social distancing, masks required, frequent sanitation of surfaces.
    • Most student work is posted and submitted through Schoology.

    Option A- Blended

    • Students attend school in person two days each week: Mon/Tues or Thur/Fri.
    • Students are required to check each of their classes in Schoology during the three days they are learning from home.
    • Submitting work should be done using the same timeline/due dates as the two days they attend school.
    • Communication with the teacher is key when there is confusion or clarification is needed about an assignment. 
    • Students cannot participate in band.

    Option B- Husky Academy

    • All work is completed virtually through the Schoology learning platform.
    • Virtual teachers are available daily.
    • Each virtual teacher has specific time(s) each day set aside for Zoom meetings.
    • Separate one-on-one zoom meetings can be scheduled for additional help.
    • Help from a learning partner at home is required (parent, grandparent, family friend, sibling, etc).      
    • Students cannot participate in band. 
    • Students can participate in school sports and extracurricular activities.                  

    Option C- Husky Academy Plus

    • Students complete their academic coursework at home through the Schoology learning platform with virtual teachers.
    • Students attend school in person for all of their elective courses each day.
    • Students must be transported to and from school for each elective. 
      • It is not guaranteed that elective courses will be scheduled back-to-back.

  • Fall Pictures for 6th and 7th Grade Rescheduled

    School pictures for 6th and 7th graders will be Friday, November 20th.

    Make-up picture day for students who missed the October 30th or November 20th dates will be December 3rd.

  • Updates to 2020-2021 School Calendar

    At the August 31, 2020 Board Meeting, changes were made to the 2020-21 school calendar to allow faculty and staff the time needed for planning, lesson design and preparation to ensure quality lessons for our students in Trussville.

    Schools will be closed for students on the following additional days this year:

    Tuesday, September 8

    Friday, October 9

    Friday, April 23
