The Mission of Trussville City Schools is to educate all students using high standards in a safe, nurturing environment fostering academic and career competencies that prepare them to be productive citizens.

Educators, staff, parents and the community will work together to help students move forward on a positive path toward college and career readiness.

HISTORY

     On June 10, 1947, Trussville was incorporated as a town, and on May 31, 1957, the town officially became a city. It was on this date "Trussville" was adopted as the official name. Trussville is located in northeast Jefferson County, the central county of the seven-county Birmingham Metropolitan Area.

     Trussville City Schools (TCS) was formed as a system independent of Jefferson County Schools in July 2005. TCS currently serves approximately 5,000 students across five campuses.  In its relatively short existence, TCS has achieved an admirable status among school systems at both the state and national levels.

Today, Trussville is one of Metro Birmingham’s most rapidly growing areas. The city has developed a strategic plan - "Trussville 2040" - which seeks to guide the area's growth across multiple sectors, including education, for decades to come.
