Dr. Pattie Neill

I am delighted to have been appointed Superintendent of Trussville City Schools in 2012.  I am originally from Birmingham, attended Woodlawn High School and Auburn University where I received my BS degree in special education.  I worked in the Tennessee Public School System from 1977-2007, and I am thrilled to be back in Sweet Home Alabama.

I received my Ed.D., Supervisor/Administrator Certificate, and Master's Degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Before accepting the position of Superintendent of Trussville City Schools, I was an Assistant Professor at Samford University teaching leadership classes in the Graduate Studies Program. I have also been an adjunct professor for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Tennessee Technological University in Cookville, Tennessee.

Before returning to Alabama, I was Superintendent of Schools for the Cumberland County School District in Crossville, Tennessee from 2003 - 2007.  I served as Director of Special Education, Student Services, and Alternative Programs for Oak Ridge Schools in Oak Ridge, Tennessee from 1999-2003.  From 1984 - 1999, I was principal of Fairview Elementary School in Anderson County, Tennessee as a Special Education teacher at Fairview Elementary School from 1977 - 1984. Fairview Elementary has been named the best elementary school in the state of Tennessee based on the SCORE criteria.

I received the 2017 Outstanding Administrator Alumni Award from Auburn University College of Education.  I am most proud of the character education program that my teams of administrators had previously implemented in Cumberland County, TN and at Fairview Elementary School.  This program is now in effect in Trussville City Schools.  In 2012, Auburn University recognized this program with the Hero Award at the Anti-Bullying Summit.

I have one son, David, who is Creative Director for an advertising firm in New York City.
