Custody
-
Per the Alabama Administrative Code, each student enrolled within TCS must provide valid custody information. Furthermore, to establish custody for the purposes of school enrollment, a parent must provide a final document signed by a judge and filed, declaring primary physical custody of the child they wish to enroll.
Documents that do not suffice for primary physical custody are:
-
A Delegation of Parental Authority, Ala. Code §26-2A-7, does not establish residence for the purpose of school enrollment.
-
The mere filing of a Dependent Complaint, Custody Affidavit and Petition, Ala. Code §26-2A-75, in Jefferson County Family Court does not establish residence for the purpose of school enrollment
-
Power of Attorney
- Anything petitioned, filed or written without a final stamp and judges signature is not allowed
